C’est Moi. Annie Alpert.

About the artist
A few glimmers short of a twinkle.
Annie Alpert did, indeed, lose her former comfortably middle-class life in New Jersey as a result of circumstance and bad choices. She lived in the back of a storefront with Pansy, a Cane Corso Mastiff (CAN-ee COR-so, an Italian variety of the Mollossus/Mastiff dog breeds) before packing up all her stuff into a Penske truck and moving to Milwaukee, Wisconsin to live with her elderly parents. Her future ex-husband works on Wall Street, and is, for now, drug-free (or so he says). Her son has Asperger’s Syndrome, a form of autism. Her daughter has not entirely thrown off the bonds of co-dependency, but seems to be making headway.
Pansy died in February, 2009 of a massive cancerous tumor.
She worked like a dog for more than 25 years in the fields of corporate computer systems analysis, desktop publishing, e-commerce, online book selling, newspaper reporting, copy writing, household management, animal training and artistic self-expression. She is motivated by most reward systems and is open to suggestions.
About this blog
Ever wonder what it’s like to go from middle-class soccer mom to middle-aged, destitute and sick? Luckily for you, you don’t have to live it. I already did that for you.
You’re welcome.
